TRACK PROGRAM

Our program purpose was to build a foundation for the future youths by uniting community youth with safe training of track and field related activities. We promote principals of good sportsmanship and develop educational and athletic achievement by providing beneficial services that build the skills, civility and self-confidence necessary to succeed in a competitive world. We are members of USAT&F and AAU organizations.

The track program mission is to promote track and field year round that provides youths in the Washington Metro Area with a recreational activity. This will help them to achieve physical and mental fitness and discipline. Most importantly, it will expose our youths to national competition and inspire them to dare to dream of one day representing the United States of America in the Olympic Games.

BYO Track Club teaches life skills along with academic and athletic development using track and field as the teaching tool. We want to continuously improve the athletics' ability by using goals and performance measurement. Our goal is to teach each child how to focus, concentrate, and recognizes life skills through instructions of track and field techniques.

BYO Track operates developmental programs in which children compete at level, which is best suited for their ability and attitude. Our athletes compete in recreational meets, local developmental meets, AAU and USATF Junior Olympic meets as well as various Regional and National Championships.

The average number of athletics is 40 to 60 per year. Our track program is segmented into three parts:

The fall program operates from Nov. 1st to Feb. 28th. This is also the indoor track season. The athletics are taught the proper techniques for all running events and compete in 10-20 meets per season.

The spring program operates from Apr. 1st to May 31st. This is the beginning of the outdoor track season. This program concentration is completely on developmental. Techniques for running, jumping, and throwing are the main focus of teaching. The athletics will compete in 4-8 meets per season.

The summer program operates from Jun. 1st to Aug. 15th. This is a more advanced instructional program that consists of more serious training sessions.
